Who we are

Friends of the Farm soft launched in the Spring of 2020. It was founded by the mother-daughter team of Jane Moore and Kimmy Moore in hopes that a NPO could fill the gaps for the need of community within family that the McCollum Land Company is not able to facilitate. Our hope is to create an organization that serves the family as a whole rather than just shareholders of the MLC. We have big aspirations for the organization- all focusing on what we can do for the family rather than what we can do for the company. We're both excited to explore our ideas and work with family members at creating an organization of service to us all.

Mission

Friends of the Farm is a non-profit organization created to foster and facilitate connections for the McCollum's branching from I.N. and Daisy Paschal McCollum. We seek to provide access to our farm land, education about our history and heritage, create community among family, and create opportunities equally benefitting all family members. This will happen by keeping the land accessible for recreation, providing historical resources, hosting events, and investing in projects and programs.

Vision

Friends of the Farm hopes to see future generations of McCollums able to enjoy a strong community of family by benefitting from programs, having access to family history resources, and having a tangible space in which to connect to their land.

Values

Family. Community. Sustainability. We are here for each other.

Your Board of Directors

Jane Moore, Founder and Secretary Treasurer

Jane is a "2nd Generation" McCollum, the daughter of Jennie McCollum Beecham. She has been active for many years in the McCollum Land Company including serving as President of the Board for the MLC. Jane continues to serve the MLC as an ex-officio board member and head of communications. Now retired from her career in purchasing, Jane enjoys spending time at her land in Oklahoma riding ATVs, cheering for her alma mater Oklahoma State, and spending as much time as possible with her granddaughter.

Ed Grune, Founder and Vice President

Ed has the distinct privilege of being an in-law to the McCollum family. He can also celebrate 12 years as a professional with the Boy Scouts of America where he creates fundraising campaigns and helps kids and adults get involved in scouting. Ed lends a good deal of expertise to the FOTF organization and is always keen to lend his perspective. You can find him practicing his hand at chicken farming, honing his archery talent with his daughter, or impressing crowded street corners with his harmonica skills.

Kimmy Moore, Founder Creator and Board President

Kimmy is a "3rd generation" McCollum, the daughter of Jane Moore. Kimmy has been active in the family as member of the Next Generation Advisory Committee to the MLC where she served 10 years as a member, 4 of them as Committee Chair. FOTF was probably born out of her goals and desires conceived while serving on the NGAC. Kimmy holds a degree in Non-Profit Management and Public Affairs as well as a professional certification in Volunteer Program and Community Resource Management. She is enjoying dusting off her degree to take charge as the first President of the FOTF. Kimmy is an artist and contract photographer but can also be found watching a good car race, dragging her daughter to obscure festivals, or enjoying a campfire at sunset with her dogs.
