Our DeGray Preparedness Guide should be in your email inbox by now.  It includes all the info on our annual meeting, voting info, all of the events, and much much more.   Go look for it and if you didn't get it, please reach out to me and I'll get it sent over.  It's a working document that will be updated as we move closer to the meeting at DeGray so it's a good link to keep bookmarked.

A quick update to say that the advisory committee working on the educational grant has submitted their recommended guidelines for how the grant should work.  The board officers will now work on crafting the details.  It's an exciting milestone in working towards our organizational mission!  That's it.  That's my update.  :-)

Check your emails, Members!  There are more details in the email, but here's the basics:

-Notice of Meeting- We'll meet on Friday, August 4th around 6:30p CST in the same room as the MLC's ice cream social.  There's also an option for attending virtually, contact me for access info.  FOTF is providing anniversary cake and coffee service during our meeting to complement the ice cream being served.  

-Nomination for officers is open now through July 15th, 2023.  Email me your nominations.  All current officers are running for re-election.

-Election will open on July 16th, 2023 for early voting online and conclude with an in-person vote at our meeting.  Ballots will be emailed to all voting-level members.

-Dues!  Dues are due in August for all members.  Please be ready to pay your dues at DeGray. We accept cash, cars, and checks.  You can find us a registration from 1p-4p.  Any unpaid dues after the DeGray weekend will receive a PayPal invoice.  Please pay by the end of August.  

-Help out!  I need a couple of volunteers to help with our kid-sitting during the shareholder meeting on Saturday night. This is a service we provide for the family.  Do you have someone in mind that might like to do this?  Let me know!  

-We have a new event for DeGray this year!  We're hosting a Foodie Exchange Party!  All the details and info on how to participate are on our event page.   I hope you all will try to participate!

Kon'nichiwa!

The board of directors met and settled all the budgets and updates for the Room at the Lodge and Traveler Stipend programs for 2023.  We're so excited to see these programs able to be funded and continue for a second year!  Applications for both open at 7:00a CST on June 1st.  Check out our Programs page for links to the guidelines and applications.  

The Scholarship Advisory Committee launch is going slow, but we are indeed working on it.  It's very complicated.  If you are a member who signed up to be on the committee, please hold tight.  We'll be in contact sooooooon... 

The easy part of the meeting was coming up with new fun stuff!  By popular demand, we are going to start a wine swap and condiment swap at DeGray this year.  Any family member will be able to sign up to be part of a swap of wines and/or a condiment (this year will be salsa.  That signup will be available in the next few weeks and we anticipate it will be well-received!  Stay tuned and check your email inbox as we'll be sending out meeting info and other details soon.

Applications for the Travel's Stipend and Room and the Lodge programs are both open!  Requirements and application info are over on our Programs page- go check it out! 

We will be changing our membership dues structure.  If you're wondering why we haven't invoiced you for your annual membership, it's because we are working to streamline the dues so that all dues are paid in the same month for all members.  This will greatly help us manage our membership data.  Bear with us, we'll have the new dues structure ready by the August meeting.  Notice of meeting and events schedule coming soon!

Be looking out for a notice to renew your membership!  We have lots of memberships due soon.

Bienvenidos!

The Annual Meeting is coming up!  Meeting times and access info was emailed along with this year's agenda.  We are also hosting an open Zoom room with a few activities.  All Buddies level members (the kids) will be receiving a make your own bird feeder kit, but if you know any non-member family kids that would like one, let me know by August 1st so I can send them a kit.  It includes pinecones that I collected from the farm :-)  Our entire events info is on the new page called 2021 Meeting Weekend Events and Info.  Go check it out.  See you all on Friday the 6th!

Hej!  Lots of updates!

First, our 2021 Travel Stipend and Room at the Lodge programs are both launched and accepting applications.  Check out our Programs page for details on rules and for applications  The deadline for applications for Room at the Lodge is June 15th and the deadline for the Travel Stipend application is July 1st.

Also, we are asking all family members to submit recipes and stories for our 1st ever McCollum Cookbook!  It's all about your favorite foods and the stories behind them.  Snap a pic and text it to me, email it, or you can submit it through this form online.  Recipes, life hacks, that trick you do to make boxed mac 'n cheese taste homemade, the phone number to your favorite pizza joint- whatever.  We really want this to be a fun and less formal collection that showcases our family patchwork.  It's doesn't have to be a recipe that you crafted over years of trial and error- just a recipe you love and maybe a story why or a recipe that maybe was passed down to you or is popular at your family gatherings.  Sales of the book will benefit FOTF's programs.

Hola!  Today we launched our Room at the Lodge Program which is designed to help any family member attend the annual gathering at DeGray!  We are so very proud of this program- it is to all non-shareholder family members and you can find all the details and guidelines under the Programs tab.  

In other news, we are up to 20 members!  Our goal was 30 charter members so if you're thinking about joining, do it!   😀

And lastly, 2 of the 3 FOTF board members were able to travel to the farm and checkout the recent cutting work and stay the night at the farmhouse.  We are working on coming up with a comprehensive proposal for the Land Company board that will help us win some funds to fix it up and gain access for the family.  If you have thoughts/hope/dreams/wants regarding the house, please please please email Kimmy at ConnectMoore@gmail.com  .  We are very hopeful that we can reach an agreement with the MLC board on this issue.

Hey fam!  We are focused this month on our membership drive and working towards our goal of 30 charter members.  As of right now, we already have 11 members- which is stellar.  This support and interest is incredible!  Spread the word- being a FOTF member is cool.  Everyone is doing it.  Check out our Membership page for details on becoming a member.  

ALSO- send me your recipes, your food stories, your how-to's, tips, and tricks.  It's going in the family grimoire!  Any McCollum, any age.  Proceeds will benefit FOTF!  Email me, text me, or fill out this form to send your submissions.
